Introduction

I bring compassionate attention to each person who comes to me for analysis or therapy. I care for the images, dreams, symptoms and problems that she or he brings. This caring attention creates a safe place, a container in which transformation can occur and a kind of holding which originates in the Self or psyche. As in alchemy, the container or vessel of the therapeutic, analytic work is the place where the rejected, disliked and disowned aspects of ourselves-- the shadow--can be brought and gradually transformed. Through an increase in self acceptance and self love, what we consider worthless, shameful and objectionable in ourselves and others can be turned gradually into gold.
